Today is the birthday of Taras Shevchenko — an outstanding Ukrainian poet, writer, and artist. He is also political figure and a symbol of the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian prophet was born at a folding hour, when we did not have a sovereign sovereignty and were sealed by the decree of Catherine II, and even then, he tried to awaken Ukrainians and glorify Ukrainian literature. The Russian empire was not befitting that Taras Shevchenko was creating Ukrainian patriotic poetry, and they with their shards of power tried to Russify the Ukrainians. Kobzar means the keeper of the people's memory, and set it up to Ukrainian patches became relevant under the hour of a full-scale war against Russia. Taras Shevchenko as a national poet is a key symbol for all historical events in Ukraine. His life and work inspired patriots to fight for truth, freedom and future of Ukraine. This best quote of the genius of Ukrainian poetry do not lose their relevance even today.
And on the renewed earth there will be no enemy, no adversary, but there will be a son, and there will be a mother, and there will be people on the earth.
The students of Bila Tserkva Humanitarian-Pedagogical Professional College, as well as many people in Ukraine, tell that now we all are fulfilling Shevchenko’s testaments. And that’s why they together with their English teacher, Valentyna LUKYANENKO, Head of the Cycle Commission of Foreign Language Teachers, are preparing for taking part in the Contest of poetry readers for the birthday of T. G. Shevchenko "How Taras Shevchenko sounds in different languages", which will be held at Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University. We all wish good luck!!!
Glory to Ukraine!
