Youth Subcultures and the life of modern teenagers - it was the topic of today’s discussion during English Talk Show which took place in Kyiv Regional Council Communal Institution Bila Tserkva Applied Humanitarian Pedagogical College.
Hippies, punks, ravers, roofers, bikers – there is no end to the number of youth cults and fashions. Well, there are so many images with their moral values, fashion, lifestyle, make-up and hair-do, music, interests and hobbies, ideology etc., but the questions are:
What are the students’ associations when they hear the word Subcultures? What makes young people decide to join any subculture?
To answer these questions, there were invited some experts to our English Talk Show :
the Sociologist - Diana
the Psychologist- Olya
the Head of the Students Union - Olha
The students from 34 PO(in) group with the help of experts and teacher Valentyna Lukyanenko have prepared interesting information on this topic and made imagies of different subcultures’ representatives.
All guests, teachers and students, were pleasantly surprised by video materials, musical accompaniment, bright costumes, and immersion in a foreign language, as well!!!
So, we were able to conclude that subcultures are an important and integral elements in the development of national culture. The subculture should be a tool to promote the development of a dominant culture, and to introduce new elements in the development of a society. We have known that the main thing is to conduct state control over the subcultures, to direct their activities for the benefit of national culture.
Also, it is very important to remember that the life of every person is the most valuable thing and we should try to live a happy, full of great experience, bright emotions and healthy life!!!
Thanks a lot to all the students from different groups, to Natalya Korchinska, the Head of the Department of specialities 013 Primary Education, Yulia Parfenova, the teacher of information technologies for taking part in our English Talk Show!
